20 Fun, Random Facts About Me

I don’t think I’m that interesting as a person, but there are some fun facts about me that I wanted to share.  Here are 20 fun, random facts about me!

  1. I was adopted when I was one month old
  2. Even though I grew up as an only child, I am biologically the youngest of 4 kids
  3. My 34-year-old sister and I are extremely close.  We have been best friends since we met when I was 19
  4. My 34-year-old sister was also adopted by a different family and unfortunately, I was the one who told her that she was adopted when the social worker gave me her phone number.  I felt horrible!
  5. I was born on Saint Patricks’s Day – March 17th
  6. My youngest is partially deaf in her left ear, but she’s doing great since we switched schools
  7. I used to play the piano and the flute
  8. I was very sick the entire time I was pregnant with my oldest.  I was in the hospital at least once a week and had to be induced at almost 34 weeks because of extreme pre-eclampsia.  My blood pressure was so high they were afraid I was going to have a stroke.  She was in the NICU for almost two months after she was born, that was torture for me as a mother
  9. When I was 10 I broke my arm by getting it caught in the opening of my dining room chair when I was running past
  10. When I was in college (in Philly) everyone told me that I had a New York accent, even though I am from New Jersey.  They would always make me say “Drawer”, “Coffee”, “Dog” and some other words
  11. I love the color pink.  When I was a teenager my entire room was a Pepto Bismol pink with black blinds
  12. I have a phobia of going to the bathroom in public bathrooms.  That said, it takes me about 25 minutes to pee in a public bathroom.  Everyone always makes fun of me for this, but my sister has the same phobia
  13. I can’t dance worth shit
  14. In college, I majored in 2D Fine Arts and minored in digital photography
  15. I went to art school on a full scholarship based on my portfolio
  16. My biological sister’s name is also Kristin (No, our parents didn’t know that they named us the same) so ever since we met, I’ve been going by Krissy
  17. My kids absolutely love that our names are the same. They often yell out “Kristin!” when we are together so we will both look (My mom also does this.)
  18. I’m totally not a morning person.  I hate getting up in the morning
  19. My very first car was my mom’s old 1989 Plymouth Reliant.  The passenger’s door eventually fell off and we had to junk it
  20. My dream car is either a Tesla Model X or a Mustang (Not convertible)

  1. How do you not think you are very interesting? I think your first few would make a great book. #13 is my personal favorite. I don’t dance either! LOL

  2. My sister was born on March 17th and her youngest son is partially deaf in an ear also! Might even be worth noting that I’m terrified of using a public bathroom too and if I do I literally have to have a friend or my boyfriend wait out by the door…. don’t ask me why i’m scared of it haha.

    Probably not anything exciting for you but those little coincidences made me smile lol.

  3. Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed reading it. I too think it is cool that you and your sister were named the same. I also enjoy drawing as well. I was going to school for Interior design for a while. I played the violin in high school. I haven’t broken anything in my life–thank God, but I did fall off one of those mini motorcycles when I was a teen. I scrapped off a patch of skin on my left knee and had such a bad contusion that i could barely walk, but my parents still made me go to school (LOL). It was nice to get to know you a little. 🙂
