10 Apps to Keep Busy Moms Organized

Being a busy mom, you need all the help you can get to stay organized.  If you aren’t already, you should utilize the one tool that we have with us almost all of the time; our cell phones.  The app store contains thousands of useful organization apps that can help you stay on point, but here are some of my tried and true favorites.

  1. Google Calendar

I know this might sound obvious but using a calendar app such as Google Calendar can definitely help to keep you organized if you use it consistently.  If you add in all of your appointments, events, etc… you can easily see what you have to do each day with a quick glance. I like Google Calendar because when you add in certain events, key words trigger some really cool photos on your daily view. I’m all about what’s aesthetically pleasing. Download Now!

  2. Trello

When most people hear of Trello they think of its business usage potential but Trello has many more uses than just for business.  Personally, I use Trello to manage absolutely everything.  I have Trello boards for daily to-do lists, my editorial calendar, my house cleaning list, my house projects list, etc…  Everything I can think of that I want to organize goes onto a related Trello board.  This app can definitely help you to organize your life and is extremely versatile and customizable to your liking. 3. Evernote

I’m sure you’ve heard of Evernote and you definitely should have! Evernote is a magical app that can house your entire life in one little, powerful app.  I use Evernote for absolutely everything.  I use it for shopping lists, to-do lists, I backup a copy of my digital bullet journal there, I save emails to Evernote so I can categorize them and clear out my inbox, I keep my girls’ school emails in Evernote…I literally keep everything in this app. I love the ease of use and the fact that you can easily search through your thousands of notes and very quickly find exactly what you’re looking for in a pinch.  Download Now!

  4. Pocket

Pocket is a great read-it-later app because of its ease of use and features.  You can save a website, blog post or article either by copying the link and pasting it right into Pocket or using the button from Safari (or Chrome) to add it right to Pocket without even opening the app.  I choose Pocket over any other read-it-later app because of the ability to tag what you save so you can easily search to find exactly what you’re looking for.  In fact, you don’t even have to tag to be able to search.  The search option will work even if you don’t input any tags.  Download Now!

  5. Cozi Family Calendar

Cozi Family Calendar is a calendar app on steroids for ultimate organization.  You can easily input your family members, assign them colors and organize your schedule by family member.  This way, you can see exactly what each family member has scheduled for that day and you always stay on top of the game.  Cozi also offers shopping lists that you can sync with the entire family, if they have the Cozi app and a smart phone.  If you’re at home and your husband is at the store, you can add or remove any item from a grocery list and it will update on your husband’s phone as well.  (You know men absolutely suck at grocery shopping!) You can also sync reminders with family members phones, and you can organize recipes & quickly add items from a recipe to your shopping list.  This app is absolutely amazing and I use this calendar in conjunction with Google Calendar for extra organization.  Download Now!

  6. Wunderlist

I’m sure you’ve heard of Wunderlist somewhere along the line.  Wunderlist is a beautiful and very useful list app that can help you organize all aspects of your life.  You can create categories for lists and even add details to a task within the task itself.  I think the interface of this app is absolutely gorgeous, very user-friendly and extremely useful for a busy mom with a lot to do. 7. Mint

Mint is a great way to keep your family’s finances organized and to make sure you stay on budget.  You can sync your accounts so you can see, at a glance, your income vs. debt ratio.  You can also create budgets for yourself within the app and as you spend with your debit or credit card, Mint will automatically recognize what category your spending is in and will subtract it from your budget.  If you get near to your budget or go over your budget, Mint will let you know.  This app is a completely versatile app that is extremely useful for moms, whether you’re on a budget or just want to track your spending. 8. Key Ring

Are you tired of all of those loyalty cards taking up space in your wallet?  I was too and that’s why I downloaded Key Ring.  With Key Ring, you can either scan your loyalty card to store it in the app or you can enter the loyalty number into the app so you always have your loyalty cards with you wherever you go.  It also allows you to free up space in your wallet for more important things like money.  (Hustle girl, hustle!) The best part is, when you visit a store and have your cards in the Key Ring app, all the cashier has to do is scan the bar code on the app and you can use your loyalty card! Download Now!

  9. Dropbox

I’m sure you already have Dropbox, but I had to mention it because it’s an app that I really love.  I love the fact that I can sync files, pictures, videos, etc… across all of my platforms so I have them anywhere I may need them.  This app is one of the best cloud storage apps out there! 10. LastPass

LastPass is an app that I use both for business and personal.  This is an app where you can enter all of your passwords, save them within the cloud based app and easily login to any of your accounts with just your TouchID.  This is also an app that syncs across all of your devices so you can use LastPass on your computer, tablet and phone to quickly and easily log in.  Download Now!
